I am a 30+ year patron. I have been let down by prior management more then once. I didn't come back to this location for 20 years. I trued it again because of new management. This location was purchased by another Sushi restaurants staff. And I feel that's one of their best points! Service is always super good! But we have had to wait for sushi. When it comes it's always of high quality and made beautifully. But sometimes it may take Much to long.

Ichi Riki is my favorite place to eat. The sushi is some of (if not the) best in the Monterey Bay. The sushi chefs are all excellent, and each have their own distinctive touches they bring to their dishes. All of the staff are lovely, and we love the way the new owner has been restoring the appearance and functionality of the interior - the place is looking great! When ownership changed, we were worried that we would have to find a new sushi spot, but our concerns were quickly eased. Although there have been a lot of changes, we feel that overall the restaurant has improved. The rolls are delicious, with both traditional rolls and an ever expanding list of specialty rolls. My favorite however, is the nigiri. The seeming simplicity of fish over rice really lets the quality shine through. There's the usual staples, but then there is also an ever changing list of seasonal specials. The oysters are fabulous - my favorites are the kumomotos. They even have a great lunch special menu (we particularly like the hand roll special). We love every opportunity we have to dine at Ichi Riki, and wish the business all the best - go check it out!

There's no wait list. This place is busy; therefore, it was good! Service was ok, the hottest didn't check on us and we had to get her attention when there was a long line. However, the sushi here was good and I would come again.

The best Japanese food ever. When I lived in the Monterey Bay we frequently dined here. Miss this place. Yumm.

How can I describe that this such nice place!! The sushi omg!! The hot pot!!? Omggg it's so good me and my best friend go there alot now service is excellent! The vibes, I love it feels very comforting! Our new fav place officially ...

Decent little local spot for sushi. Most restaurants close fairly early, but they're open slightly later, plus they were able to accommodate a large group at the last minute and stay open a tad after closing for us as well. Service was very quick and I'd say the sushi was on par with most other sushi restaurants.

Revisited after a disastrous visit last time and I have to say that I had a total change of heart. Will update my review when I have more time to elaborate

I have been wanting to try this place for years and it never was on my home. This trip I was checking out the local night market but wasn't feeling the vibe. So I walked down to Ichi-Riki. I was promptly seated at the sushi bar, but it felt a bit awkward as I was literally sitting next to the drinks bar. Though, I had a good seat to see the food prep and the outgoing sushi and sashimi plates. I had a bento box with tin katsu and tempura (one shrimp and a variety of vegetables). My server was attentive and checked on me periodically to make sure my meal was going well. I think on a future visit to get some of the chef's special combo.

Another visit to this well-established spot for sushi in Seaside. The fish quality was still excellent, seasoning for everything was still on point (especially soups/stock), tempura batter was still light and airy, and the staff was still friendly and provided great service with warmth and professionalism. Unfortunately, today, the Tanindon was advertised as having thinly sliced beef in the menu, but came out with chopped chunky beef. The flavors carried the bowl but a little let down with the meat. They also never brought out the miso soup that comes with it. I didn't realize it until we left. The staff was very friendly so I'm sure they would have taken care of it if I had caught it earlier.
